MINISTRY IS ABOUT PEOPLE

At Young’s Chapel Baptist Church, we believe ministry is about people.
Our team is committed to helping others know Jesus, grow in their faith, and find meaningful community. We’d love the opportunity to meet you and help you get connected.

Chris Luper

PASTOR

ABOUT OUR PASTOR

Chris began serving as Lead Pastor of Young’s Chapel Baptist Church in 2023. He is passionate about preaching God’s Word, helping people grow in their faith, and seeing lives transformed through the Gospel.

In addition to serving at Young’s Chapel, Chris serves as the Campus Pastor and Religion Teacher at Oak Hill Academy, where he invests in students from across the country and around the world. Before coming to Young’s Chapel, he served as a youth pastor in Galax, Virginia; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Knoxville, Tennessee.

Chris holds a B.A. from Emory & Henry University, an M.A. from Asbury Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Theology degree from Appalachian School of Theology.

Chris and his wife, Libby, have been married since 2011 and have four daughters: Teaghyn, Anistyn, Hollyn, and Strattyn. Together, they enjoy spending time as a family, exploring the outdoors, and being part of the community they call home.

“My desire is that every person who walks through our doors experiences the love of Christ and finds a place to belong, grow, and serve.”

OUR PEOPLE & PURPOSE

MINISTRY HAPPENS THROUGH PEOPLE

OUR MINISTRY
LEADERS

Young’s Chapel is blessed by a dedicated team of volunteers who faithfully serve our church family each week. From children’s ministry and student ministry to worship, hospitality, outreach, and discipleship, these leaders help create opportunities for people of all ages to connect, grow, and serve.

We believe ministry happens best when people use their God-given gifts to build up the church and serve others.

OUR DEACONS

Our deacons serve alongside our pastor to care for the needs of our church family and support the ministry of the church. Through prayer, encouragement, and service, they help ensure that Young’s Chapel remains a place where people are loved, supported, and cared for.

SERVING TOGETHER

The ministry of Young’s Chapel Baptist Church is made possible by countless volunteers who faithfully give their time, talents, and hearts each week.

Whether greeting guests, teaching children, leading worship, preparing meals, serving in outreach, or caring for others behind the scenes, each person plays an important role in carrying out our mission.
