As a new school year begins, we invite our entire church family to join us for a special Blessing of the Backpacks. During the service, we’ll pray over students, teachers, school staff, and homeschool families, asking God to guide, protect, and strengthen them throughout the year ahead.
Everyone is encouraged to bring something that represents the year ahead:
Whether you’re heading into a classroom, teaching one, or learning around the kitchen table, we want to celebrate this new season and cover you in prayer as you begin another school year.
Before the first bell rings, let’s cover this school year in prayer.
Join us for Back to School: Covered, a drop-in prayer experience for our entire community. Walk through interactive prayer stations as you pray for students, teachers, school staff, friendships, and our schools. At the end of the experience, families will gather with our pastor for a special prayer of blessing over the new school year and receive resources to continue praying at home.
Whether you’re a student, parent, grandparent, educator, homeschool family, or simply have a heart for our community, everyone is invited. Even if you don’t have children in school, your prayers can make a lasting difference.
Before backpacks are packed and alarm clocks return, join us for one last sweet celebration of summer! Bring the whole family to the Luper House for an evening of games, fellowship, homemade ice cream, and delicious desserts as we kick off a new school year together.
Whether you have children heading back to school or simply want to enjoy an evening with your church family, everyone is invited!
What to bring:
• A dessert and/or homemade ice cream to share
• Lawn chairs for your family
