Since 1845, Young’s Chapel Baptist Church has been a place where people gather to worship God, grow in faith, and serve others in the name of Jesus Christ.
We believe every person matters to God. Whether someone has followed Jesus for decades or is exploring faith for the first time, we strive to create a welcoming environment where people can encounter the life-changing love of Christ.
Faith is a journey. Through biblical teaching, worship, prayer, fellowship, and discipleship, we encourage people of all ages to deepen their relationship with Jesus and become more like Him each day.
We are called to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community and beyond. Through local outreach, missions, acts of compassion, and everyday service, we seek to share God’s love with those around us.
Young’s Chapel Baptist Church was organized on November 8, 1845, when a group of believers gathered with a shared desire to establish a Baptist church in the Mouth of Wilson community.
For nearly two centuries, God has faithfully guided our congregation through seasons of growth, change, and ministry. From humble beginnings in local homes and early church buildings to our current location overlooking Oak Hill Academy, Young’s Chapel has remained committed to proclaiming the Gospel and serving the community.
Our church shares a unique connection to Oak Hill Academy.
Church members played a significant role in supporting Christian education in the region, helping lay the foundation for what would become one of the nation’s most respected boarding schools.
