Several years ago a gentleman began attending YCBC. Curious, I asked him why he was coming? He said, “Where I was going, all the preacher talked about was money.”
Well, Jesus talked about money more than he ever mentioned Hell. By a lot. Not even close. Money is symbol, a tool, a means of accomplishing and acquiring. Evil isn’t inherent in money, nor is good. Jesus’ emphasis was on money’s place and purpose and use in our lives.
Church is people. Church is buildings. Church is action. Church is missions. Church is a lot of things.
Which requires money.
I have learned that asking for money to be used for funding a place to worship, for sending kids on trips, for repairing houses, for feeding hungry people, for all the stuff our community of faith is more than okay.
Because we always fund our passions.
Join us in our passion to serve.
